About Camp Guilrock

Camp Guilrock is a 210-acre camp located in Reidsville, North Carolina. Camp Guilrock was incorporated in January of 1970 and has been a beautiful retreat ever since.  Camp Guilrock is overseen by their board of directors and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, but is open to all people regardless of their religious affirmations. Camp Guilrock is able to remain open and serve the surrounding communities through fees and donations from camp supporters. The camp is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. 

Vision

The vision for Camp Guilrock started over 50 years ago when United Methodists from Guilford and Rockingham counties wanted to develop a Christian outdoor education and spiritual growth camp. Over the years, Guilrock has become a place where people come to experience God in a natural and relaxing environment. 

Our mission statement is "Discover Creation, Experience God, Grow in Faith." Our board of directors who oversees the camp is made up of laity and clergy from the Northern Piedmont district of the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. 

Courtney Sanford, Director

I started at Camp Guilrock in February of 2025. I am an ordained deacon in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. I am from Boone, North Carolina. I am married to Bailey, and we have three kids. I love hiking, arts and crafts, pottery, traveling, spending time with my family, and summer camp. I am known for fun and messy activities with the kids, especially with slime. Join us for a fun summer for your kids, full of learning, silliness, and growing our faith in God. I also look forward to hosting retreats and camping groups throughout the year. We have a beautiful 200 acres ready for you and your group to explore. I am creative and would love to dream and pray with you about what your retreat or event could look like.
